Overview The new health service will provide people with the best possible care with services that support them throughout their lives. The merger will also strengthen our workforce, providing new training, education and career opportunities. Subject to final approval on 1 January 2026, all employees from the five health services will transfer to Bayside Health. On 1 January 2026, five health services (Kooweerup Regional Health Service, Peninsula Health, Alfred Health, Bass Coast Health and Gippsland Southern Health Service) will come together to create Bayside Health; a newly merged health service with more than 22,000 employees caring for a community of over 1.2 million Victorians. Team & Roles The Pharmacy Department at Peninsula Health provides services across Peninsula University Hospital (Frankston), Rosebud Hospital, sub‑acute sites at Golf Links Road Rehabilitation (Frankston) and The Mornington Centre, as well as Community Mental Health, Sub‑acute at Home and Hospital in the Home. With the recent redevelopment of Peninsula University Hospital, we are excited to offer two new operational pharmacist roles. Role 1: Grade 1 or 2 Rotational Operations Pharmacist As a pharmacist at Peninsula University Hospital, you’ll work across our Main Pharmacy and Inpatient Pharmacy Satellite under the guidance of the Associate Director of Pharmacy – Frankston Operations. You’ll deliver safe, effective, and connected care through rotations in Oncology, Dispensary, Hospital in the Home (HITH) and Clinical Trials. Responsibilities include clinical services, medication supply, maintaining pharmacy systems, inventory control and supporting education for interns and students. Grade 2 pharmacists take on additional leadership and research responsibilities, including resource planning, stock coordination, supervision and training, PBS and system enquiries, and contributing to audits and Quality Use of Medicines initiatives. Role 2: Grade 2 Dispensary & Operations Pharmacist As a Dispensary & Operations Pharmacist at Peninsula University Hospital, you’ll ensure the safe, timely and cost‑effective delivery of medications across our services. Working under the guidance of the Associate Director of Pharmacy, you’ll manage day‑to‑day dispensary operations, coordinate stock, supervise and train staff, and handle PBS and system enquiries. You’ll also contribute to research, audits and Quality Use of Medicines initiatives, while actively participating in education and departmental activities. Skills and Experience Required Current Pharmacy Board of Australia (AHPRA) general registration with no restrictions to the scope of practice, or an appropriate pharmaceutical qualification for registration with AHPRA. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team. Demonstrated commitment to further education and self‑directed learning. Current or recent hospital pharmacy experience in operations or clinical services (desirable). Demonstrated ability to supervise and train staff (Grade 2 Dispensary & Operations Pharmacist role).
