Additional 5 days of annual leave Salary benefits include 17.5 % leave loading and salary packaging Hybrid working model and collegiate working environment, close to public transport The Role We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lawyer or Senior Lawyer to join our team. The successful candidate will deliver provide high quality legal assistance to Victorian renters, working collaboratively with Tenants Victoria’s Client Services team and other workers as part of an integrated model of service delivery. Responsibilities The successful candidate will have the following requirements: Provide high quality information, referrals, advice and other relevant assistance to Victorian tenants and community organisation workers, as required. Participate in the roster of advice services including triage, phone, in-person, e-mail services and other programs as and when required. Provide representation and advocacy services to clients, generally before the Victoria Civil & Administrative Tribunal, either by personal appearance or by briefing Counsel. Properly maintain advice notes, casework files and service data in accordance with Tenants Victoria policies, procedures, service guidelines and other requirements. Identify systemic issues arising from client assistance and report those issues to in accordance with the service guidelines. Achieve key performance activity levels and goals within the limits set from time to time by Tenants Victoria. Undertake professional development activities to improve and develop legal and non- legal skills. Perform other duties as directed by the Principal Lawyer or Director of Legal Services. Key Requirements: Lawyers must be legally qualified and hold (or be able to hold) a practising certificate under the Legal Profession Uniform Law Application Act 2014. Lawyers must undertake a Police Check and Working with Children Check prior to employment. For a Lawyer role - At least 2 years post admission experience, with proven experience in the conduct of legal casework from commencement to conclusion. For a Senior Lawyer role – 4+ years of legal and tenancy experience. Demonstrated high level oral communication and listening skills. Who are you?
