Join to apply for the Group Senior Financial Accountant role at News Corp Australia What's the role? We are seeking a highly motivated Group Senior Financial Accountant to join our Corporate Finance team. This role reports to the Group Senior Finance Manager and assists in managing the Group Financial Reporting team. It plays a critical part in delivering both quarterly US GAAP and annual IFRS reporting requirements, supporting complex consolidations across multiple entities, and engaging with key stakeholders across Finance and the broader business. The successful candidate will thrive in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment and bring a strong mix of technical accounting knowledge, analytical capability, and collaborative communication skills. Hybrid working environment with 3 days in office / 2 days from home. Responsibilities Responsible for the quarterly and year‑end US GAAP reporting including complex group consolidations, intercompany eliminations, and ownership structure changes. Contribute to the annual statutory reporting process under IFRS, including preparation of consolidated financial statements and supporting notes. Contribute to maintaining a strong internal control environment compliant with SOX requirements. Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across FP&A, Commercial Finance, Tax, and Treasury. Partner with finance teams across business units and regions to ensure timely and accurate reporting inputs. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including system enhancements, reporting automation, and process optimisation. Assist in the provision of technical accounting guidance to the News Corp Australia group on changes to US GAAP and IFRS and their impact on the business, as well as accounting advice on changes in the business. Preparation of responses to internal and external auditors and make recommendations for remediation where necessary. Who are you? Relationship‑focused: Builds strong, collaborative relationships with colleagues and stakeholders across the business. Fosters trust through effective communication. What is your experience? Big 4 background, Qualified Chartered Accountant with 2+ years post‑qualified experience. Commercial environment preferred. Experience with both US GAAP and IFRS. Previous financial reporting, technical accounting or client service experience involving complex transactions and the consolidation of large groups, including minority interest. Experience performing analytical analysis over financial information. Experience in financial consolidation systems (OneStream preferred, but not necessary). Experience working in a robust control environment (SOX is preferred, but not necessary). Experience coaching and motivating junior team members.
