About the Role Green Light is currently looking for a skilled Cisco UCS Engineer. The Cisco UCS Engineer will be responsible for the design, implementation, and management of Cisco UCS & VMware vSphere platforms. The role offers an initial 12‑month assignment in Sydney offices. Responsibilities Capacity planning, performance analysis, DR plans and UCS compute administration Inputs into planning and prioritisation of project work Inputs into definition of work packages Refinement of work descriptions Advice on technical risks and critical defects Investigation and resolution of assigned defects Design for secondary disaster recovery compute environment with Cisco USC, Hitachi, VMware vSphere Detail design documentation to build the Cisco UCS and virtual infrastructure Design documentation describing the integration into the overall solution such as physical fit and physical connectivity, and logical connectivity to core network, border, fabric interconnects Test failure modes, recovery modes, security and access, scaling, and maintenance as per the testing approach Provide proactive advice on overall solution design and deployment Provide ad‑hoc advice on defect resolution Provide ad‑hoc support to DR team members Throughout key points in the project handover and knowledge sharing will be required via either meetings in person, recorded MS Teams sessions or handover documentation Requirements 5+ years in a similar capacity – Technical Consultant and/or Engineer on VMware vSphere & Cisco UCS Expertise as a systems administrator on Windows and UNIX environments as well as IP networking, routing & switching technologies Strong understanding and background in Cisco UCS platform – hardware, software and fabric design & architecture Knowledge of object storage systems, databases & applications is desirable Good understanding of managed services framework About Green Light We are an Australian onshore services company that provides technology capability across ANZ and Asia.
