Job Description The Animal Referral Hospital is one of the most respected emergency and specialist veterinary hospitals in Sydney. Located in Homebush in Sydney’s Inner West, we offer a wide range of specialist services and provide 24‑hour emergency and critical care to referring veterinarians and the public. We pride ourselves on offering the highest standard of patient care with a focus on providing our clients with the best standard of customer service. We have a dedicated Critical Care Unit with state‑of‑the‑art equipment to provide the most critically ill patients with dedicated care. Our Critical Care Unit is staffed by Critical Care Specialists and highly experienced veterinary nurses and technicians, 365 days of the year. If you’re an experienced Emergency Nurse or experienced GP Nurse looking to make your move – we’d love to hear from you Responsibilities Providing amazing nursing care to critically ill and injured patients from triage throughout their stay with us Working directly with our skilled veterinary team to deliver timely and effective treatment and patient care Monitor patients closely, administer medications, assist with medical and surgical procedures as needed IV catheter placement, blood collection, assisting with diagnostic imaging. This could progress to advanced line placements and advanced critical monitoring in our dedicated CCU for the right candidate Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with hospital protocols Client communication, providing advice, answering questions and supporting clients during stressful times Ideal Candidate Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent with minimum 2yrs nursing experience Have a passion to advance their skills with regular CE and ongoing in‑house mentorship Strong attention to detail with ability to multitask/prioritise Ability to provide high quality patient care even in busy conditions A friendly, team player attitude – team culture is very important to us Strong communication skills Flexibility to work across days, evenings, overnight, weekends, and some public holidays Previous experience working within an emergency and specialty hospital would be highly regarded but not essential Benefits Full‑time, Part‑time or Casual hours available Competitive remuneration rates Rostering to support a work‑life balance Discounts on veterinary treatment within Speciality and Greencross GP clinics Discounts within Petbarn retail stores Free on‑site parking and close to public transport Leave entitlements – up to 5 weeks annual leave/year for shiftworkers, personal/sick leave, carers leave (all leave benefits as per award) Continuous education via online platform including access to programs such as At Dove, Vet Webinar and Proskills Free annual influenza vaccination Free access to confidential Employee Assistance Program LifeWorks 24/7 Apply Join us at ARH Homebush and make a difference in the lives of pets and their families when they need it most.
