Data Engineer

Role Purpose You'll be responsible for designing, building, and managing high-quality data ingestion, transformation, and curation pipelines across Microsoft Fabric, Azure, and Purview. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex engineering problems and working with modern enterprise data platform patterns. Key Responsibilities Build and optimise ingestion / transformation pipelines using Microsoft Fabric. Implement medallion architecture (Bronze / Silver / Gold) and high-quality semantic models for Power BI. Run and automate Purview scans, lineage, classifications, and metadata workflows. Apply privacy-by-design and secure-by-default engineering practices. Develop data quality rules, automated testing, and strong documentation. Configure monitoring, alerting, and optimise compute / storage. Collaborate with data governance, stewards, product owners, and analysts. Required Skills & Experience 5+ years of enterprise data engineering experience. Strong Microsoft Fabric experience (Pipelines, Dataflows, Notebooks, OneLake). Strong SQL and PySpark. Exposure to Azure Synapse / ADF / Databricks. Hands-on Microsoft Purview knowledge. Understanding of medallion architecture and Power BI modelling. Experience with CI / CD and Git-based workflows. Strong security and data quality practices.
