Talent Acquisition Partner @ NTT DATA | Your success is my mission, and I’m here to support and champion you every step of the way Tech Lead – Data Engineer (AI) | Contract | Sydney & Melbourne Flexi Location Exciting contract opportunities for AI-focused Data Engineers and Tech Leads We’re seeking experienced engineers and hands‑on technical leaders to help deliver a series of innovative, agentic AI initiatives across major enterprise projects in Sydney and Melbourne. If you’re passionate about building scalable AI‑driven data solutions using modern Azure technologies—this one is for you. About the Role You will lead the design and delivery of next‑generation AI and data engineering solutions that support complex risk , compliance , and financial operations use cases. These engagements involve transforming AI Proof of Concepts into fully productionised, enterprise‑grade solutions. We welcome applicants across all seniority levels , from strong mid‑level engineers to senior hands‑on architects and tech leads. Key Responsibilities Lead the design, development, and deployment of AI‑driven data engineering solutions. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver robust, scalable solutions. Provide technical leadership, coaching, and mentorship to engineering team members. Participate in PoC development, feasibility analysis, and solution prototyping. Drive the transition of AI PoCs into fully operational production systems. Strong software engineering background in C# , Python , or Java . Demonstrated experience in Data Engineering , AI , Machine Learning , or LLMs . Hands‑on capability with Azure Data Factory , Azure SQL , Synapse , and Azure AI Foundry . Proven success delivering scalable, maintainable cloud data solutions. Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills. Prior experience on cloud‑based AI/ML projects is highly regarded. Contract Length: 6 months initially, with extensions up to 12–18 months . Location: Sydney or Melbourne (flexibility considered) Project Start: Expected February 2026 . About the Engagements You will be contributing to large‑scale, high‑impact AI and data transformation programs with leading enterprise organisations across industries such as automotive , superannuation , and resources . These projects focus on building agentic AI solutions that deliver meaningful operational and business outcomes.
