The City of Newcastle (CN) has an exciting career opportunity for a Traineeship in Work Health and Safety as part of our Safety and Wellbeing Team. This opportunity is a 2-year fixed-term contract within our People and Culture service unit. This traineeship will provide you with the opportunity to work in conjunction with qualified and highly experienced people within the Safety and Wellbeing Team. You will rotate between all areas of the Safety and Wellbeing service element to gain a deeper understanding of roles including: Safety and Wellbeing Support Safety & Wellbeing Business Partners across a range of activities, including reviewing WHS documents, assisting with incident investigations and audits, and contributing to safety initiatives and projects, maintaining the WHS Management System, Incident Management System and Safety and Wellbeing Intranet Pages and any other administrative function. Support and Recovery Assist Recovery & Care Coordinator and Return to Work Coordinator supporting injured workers following injury including regular contact with relevant parties, supporting Managers and Supervisors identifying suitable duties and developing Return to Work Plans. You will participate in a structured training program designed to develop the skills, knowledge, and experience necessary to prepare for entry-level employment in Safety and Wellbeing.
