Rice Queen Oriental Diner and Bar – Fitzroy VIC Rice Queen, Fitzroy's premier Pan‑Asian fusion restaurant and cocktail bar is looking for our newest Commis Chefs to join our team, contributing to our already amazing dining experience. Main Role Responsibilities Assist senior chefs with the day‑to‑day operations of the kitchen utilizing your skills & experience Use correct techniques and follow procedures and recipes when preparing and cooking menu items Be responsible for your section and operate to optimum efficiency Experience, Skills & Attributes Demonstrated experience in a commercial kitchen Ability to effectively follow instructions and absorb new information Interest in local and global food trends Good communication and immaculate presentation Ability to build and maintain effective relationships Team player and display a positive and nimble attitude Understanding of Food Safety and OH&S Foundation knife skills and understanding of basic cookery terms and techniques Focus on detail Outstanding time management during preparation and service periods Calm and composed demeanour Qualification in Commercial Cookery preferred but not necessary Experience with Pan‑Asian cuisine preferred This is an exciting position where you will be able to work with excellent produce in a respectful environment and have great opportunities for personal and professional development.
