St Jude's Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS)- Southern and Western Suburbs, Adelaide – Brighton SA St Jude's Aged Care Volunteer Visitors are currently seeking a female volunteer to visit a lady living in an Aged Care home in Glengowrie. The lady is feeling a little bit isolated, and would really like to have a visitor she could have a chat with, and perhaps a game of Scrabble. The Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS) is a nationwide program funded by the Commonwealth Government. Volunteers with the program are supported by a local ACVVS Coordinator, and are reimbursed for agreed out of pocket expenses. They are also able to access free training, are kept informed via a quarterly newsletter and have opportunities to meet up with other volunteers on a regular basis. No aged care experience is required, but Volunteers do need to have a valid National Police Clearance. We can help arrange this at no cost to the Volunteer.
