The Role As a Payroll Officer, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management of payroll for 300+ employees, with a strong focus on compliance, accuracy, and continuous improvement. You will bring a solid understanding of Enterprise Agreements, individual employment contracts, and Modern Awards to ensure payroll is processed in line with legislative and organisational requirements. This role offers a unique opportunity for an experienced payroll professional who is looking to broaden their career by gaining exposure to the wider People & Culture function. Role Responsibilities Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for a workforce of 300+ employees on both fortnightly and monthly pay cycles. Ensure payroll is compliant with relevant legislation, awards, enterprise agreements, and tax requirements. Maintain and update employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, changes to salary, leave, and deductions. Process superannuation contributions, PAYG withholding tax, and other statutory obligations. Reconcile payroll accounts and prepare payroll journals for the finance team. Respond to employee payroll queries in a timely and professional manner. Support end-of-financial-year activities including STP reporting, and reconciliations. Generate and maintain payroll reports as required by management, People & Culture, and auditors. Drive ongoing enhancements and process improvements within the payroll system Keep up to date with changes to payroll legislation and ensure compliance. Provide administrative support for People & Culture initiatives and programs.
