About the Role CARE Veterinary Hospital is a leading healthcare provider for animals, committed to delivering exceptional emergency and critical care services. The clinic is a 24‑hour multi‑disciplinary emergency and referral hospital in the heart of Melbourne, Australia. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Veterinary Manager to join our dynamic team in a frontline leadership and management role. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with our Emergency & Critical Care Head of Department to help lead and develop the ECC service. The role incorporates clinical responsibilities as well as management of the department and veterinary ECC team. Why You Should Apply No full overnight shifts required. The bulk of hours are Monday‑Friday with some clinical coverage on weekends and evenings. Flexible start and finish times, with flexible full‑time hours. Responsibilities In this role you will: Work closely with and support the Head of ECC in administration and management of the department. Develop and support the team, including roster and leave management. Liaise with clients, referring vets and hospital staff members. Perform clinical work in ECC/ICU as required. Facilitate and maintain the highest standards of ECC/ICU care and support your team. Contribute to all aspects of ECC workflow in a supportive environment. Must Have A veterinary degree registrable in Victoria. Proven history of leading a team of veterinarians in a senior veterinary capacity. Competence with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Commitment to being a team player, good communicator, and contributing to a positive workplace environment. Desirable Membership of the Australian & New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in Emergency & Critical Care or of an equivalent international body. Management training (formal or informal through CPD) and experience. Experience using RxWorks and Smartflow veterinary software.
