About the role: Are you a Speech Pathologist who is passionate about helping children reach their full potential? As a paediatric Speech Pathologist, you will play a crucial role in helping children overcome a wide range of communication and feeding challenges. You will work closely with children and their families to develop individualized treatment plans and implement effective therapy techniques. Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive evaluations to identify speech, language, and feeding difficulties. Treatment Planning: Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each child's specific needs and goals. Therapy Delivery: Implement a variety of evidence-based therapy techniques, including oral motor exercises, articulation therapy, language therapy, social skills training, and feeding therapy. Family Education and Counseling: Provide guidance and support to families regarding communication strategies, home practice activities, and adaptive equipment. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other professionals, such as occupational therapists, physical therapists, and special education teachers, to ensure a comprehensive approach to child development. AAC Implementation: Provide expertise in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices and strategies, considering each child's unique needs and abilities. Essential criteria: Bachelors of higher degree in Speech Pathology. Current membership with Speech Pathology Australia. Experience working with pediatric populations, preferably with children with complex communication needs. Strong clinical skills, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
