Oil & Gas - Operations (Mining, Resources & Energy)At APA, our purpose is simple: to strengthen communities through responsible energy.We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Senior E&I Technician to join our Operations and Maintenance team in the Pilbara, Western Australia on a Permanent Fulltime basis.Reporting to the Team Leader, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of plant and equipment associated with gas transmission pipeline systems that APA Group own & operate to meet our customer requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan, organise and implement routine and unscheduled maintenance of pipeline system, compressor stations, meter stations, pressure reduction facilities, scraper stations and laterals to meet reliability KPIs and contractual obligations.Install, calibrate, monitor, diagnose, repair, maintain and service process controls, instrumentation, electrical and electronic plant, and equipment.Rectification of system faults, utilising data, and testing equipment to diagnose solutions to technical issues.Undertake monitoring and surveillance activities of transmission pipelines and plant as per APA procedures.Monitor and supervise the on-site Permit to Work System in accordance with APA procedures.Your backgroundElectrical / Instrumentation trade or equivalent experience in transmission gas pipelines or a relevant heavy industry.Knowledge of pressures, flows and distribution cause and effect and basic instrumentation an advantage.Certificate III in Gas Industry Supply Operations or Process Plant Operations (Gas Transmission) an advantage.Ability to competently use relevant computer applications to analyse data and records.Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve Electrical/Instrumentation equipment problems.Have strong interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate and negotiate with clients, and to present a competent, responsible and solution orientated attitude.Experience in inspection and maintenance of Hazardous Area Electrical Equipment is desirable.Ability to work within a team and autonomously and effectively across the business unit.About the TeamThe Pilbara O&M team are responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of gas to our contracted customers on the Telfer, PEPL and Goldfield Gas pipelines in the Pilbara. We maintain an extensive portfolio of pipelines and gas compression stations spread over large distances in some of the most remote country in the state. Typical equipment includes turbine and reciprocal compression units, GEA's and customer delivery stations which contain pressure and temperature regulation equipment.
