Orange Door Practitioner – Western Melbourne We have an exciting opportunity to work as an Orange Door Hub Practitioner within the state’s specialist family violence service. The Orange Door is a family violence specialist service that provides first response to those seeking assistance after family violence and child well‑being concerns. Practitioners work from an integrated approach, assisting victims/survivors and children. Key Responsibilities Provide short‑term support to individuals impacted by family violence, including advice and referrals. Focus on risk management, safety planning, and making appropriate referrals. Conduct child wellbeing checks and complete child wellbeing assessments. Complete risk assessments on people using violence. Complete MARAMs with victim survivors. Adhere to documentation and record‑keeping requirements. Qualifications and Requirements A relevant tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, or related behavioural sciences at the degree level (or an associate diploma level with substantial experience) in the relevant service stream. Demonstrated experience working with children, families, and family violence cases with complex needs and risk issues. Resilience to work with and support clients who have been exposed to trauma. Demonstrated ability to identify, assess, and prioritise risks and needs of clients using a whole‑family approach.
