Grow friendships as a Community Social Volunteer, Sans Souci, HammondCare Did you know that research has proven that a regular visit to a Garden Centre and a friendly chat is guaranteed to make everyone happy? This could be the volunteering opportunity you've been waiting for where happiness is doubled Our lovely older client in Sans Souci would love someone to do a slow stroll around a garden Centre with and enjoy a coffee and chat. What a fun and meaningful way to give back doing what you enjoy as well. When and where: once a fortnight for about an hour or so on a Wednesday, in or near the Bayside area. It's preferred that you drive and are happy to take our client to and from your little garden adventures together. Your impact: Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help older people feel less isolated. Your visits will bring great joy to the client you are matched with. HammondCare is a provider of The Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme funded by the Australian Government and is established to promote links between elderly people and volunteers in their local community. Category Seniors & Aged Care Commitment Regular - more than 6 months Type Of Work Arts, Craft & Photography Companionship & Social Support Seniors & Aged Care Time Required We'd be happy to discuss a suitable time during the week for a one hour visit between 9am and 4pm Monday to Sunday. Visits could be weekly to fortnightly depending on your availability. Training Training is provided as well as ongoing support by a local Volunteer Coordinator.
