The role
As the
Head of Data Modelling
, you will play a critical role in the team and be a trusted & strategic advisor to the executive & mentor to the data modelling team. This role is responsible for leading the Data Modelling function - conformed, normalised, dimensional ensuring the adherence of data models to the industry reference model in place at NAB.
The day to day responsibilities will include:
Directly accountable for leading a team of data modellers, including internal and external contractorsReview and approves data models and governance processesSet strategic direction for tools and processes related to data modellingVendor and 3rd party technology provider managementLead decision forums regarding choices and trade-offs related to delivery objectives and platform standardsAssist in resolving technical complexities related to data modelling approachesActively partner with leaders from Architecture, Delivery, Data Governance, Privacy, Platforms, and Security and the business to build strong partnerships and ensure data modelling approaches are pragmaticDrive efficiency to improve velocity of business outcomes, usability and quality of our enterprise data while reducing cost to build and runLeadership of team members including hiring, coaching, mentoring, developing, and promoting resourcesEnsure the team meets delivery deadlines for providing data models on time to Delivery squads coupled with adherence to Delivery SDLC timelines, ensuring high quality
What you will bring:
Exceptional in-depth experience as a Senior Leader in Data Modelling in a large complex organisation, ideally within Financial ServicesProven experience managing Data teams within large complex programs containing multiple streams, across multiple regions, with multiple vendorsExtensive experience in delivering large scale big data programs on cloudDemonstrated experience in software development lifecycleExtensive exposure to enterprise system architecture, design, and developmentsExperience with Industry Reference Models such as FSLDM and IFW and in-depth knowledge of Data Governance and StandardsProven capability in building, leading, and managing large teams between 20+ peopleAble to drive a high performance culture that values collaborationStrong communication and relationship skills across the breadth of stakeholders including Senior ExecutiveAble to demonstrate a strategic mindset and be decisive with high decision qualityUnderstands and considers issues in the context of overall business strategiesTertiary qualification in computer science or related discipline. and preferably a post-graduate qualification (i.e, Post graduate diploma / Degree / Masters).
