Associate Recruitment Consultant | Contracts & Procurement, Finance & Investment, & Project Controls | Power Transmission & Distribution | Renewable Overview We are seeking a senior energy markets leader based in Melbourne with deep expertise across the National Electricity Market (NEM) and gas markets to lead complex analytical and advisory engagements. This role is suited to an experienced professional who combines strong market, regulatory and investment insight with the ability to engage clients and contribute to business development. The role will work closely with government, investors, utilities and policy bodies, providing high-level advice underpinned by rigorous quantitative and market analysis. Responsibilities Lead complex analytical and modelling engagements across electricity and gas markets. Provide expert advice on regulatory frameworks, policy settings, market behaviour and investment decisions. Interpret and translate quantitative analysis and modelling outputs into clear, actionable insights. Shape project scopes, methodologies and workplans, ensuring high-quality delivery. Build and maintain senior client relationships and actively contribute to winning new work. Support proposal development and commercial discussions with clients. Mentor and guide junior team members in analytical approaches and market understanding. Represent the firm as a senior subject-matter expert in external forums and client engagements. Required Experience Deep understanding of how the NEM and gas markets operate in practice. Strong regulatory, commercial and investment analysis capability. Proven ability to turn market data and modelling outputs into decision-ready insights. Experience advising government, investors, utilities or vertically integrated energy businesses. Demonstrated ability to engage clients, shape opportunities and support business development. Background in energy consulting, market / regulatory bodies, or senior commercial / strategy roles within energy companies. Qualifications Degree in Economics, Engineering, Finance, Energy Studies or a related discipline (preferred but not essential).
