About the Opportunity We have an exciting opportunity to join Metcash as a Retail Design Manager. The Retail Design Manager will be responsible for delivering industry best practice and innovative retail designs for our Metcash Food & Grocery retailers. This will be achieved through effective management and co‑ordination between Metcash, the Retailer and Developer. In this Role Design and document new and refurbished supermarket fit‑outs Manage project approvals, ensuring alignment with Metcash standards and timelines Coordinate design and construction documents across internal and external teams Review third‑party plans to ensure optimal store outcomes Ensure compliance with regulations and tenancy requirements Collaborate with stakeholders including developers, consultants, and internal teams Conduct site investigations / measure‑ups and prepare Existing Conditions, Feasibility and Concept Plans Analyse store layouts to enhance customer experience and operational efficiency You’re Likely a Match If: Tertiary qualifications in Architecture or Interior Design. Experience in supermarket or food retail design (preferred). Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD (Revit family creation a plus). Skills in Enscape or similar presentation tools. Strong portfolio showcasing relevant 2D/3D design, documentation, and presentation. Solid understanding of supermarket and/or food retail design requirements, including equipment, layout, operations, food safety, services (MEP), and compliance (BCA/NCC/DDA/AS). Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
