We are thrilled to present an exciting opportunity for a Work Health and Safety (WHS) Manager to join our Sydney Roads and Asset Performance Contract team In this pivotal role, you will partner with the project leadership team to shape, implement, and drive our health and safety strategy, fostering a culture that prioritises care for people and the environment while delivering exceptional outcomes You will play a key role in aligning divisional health and safety strategies with sector-wide goals, overseeing the project’s management systems and frameworks, and providing expert guidance and leadership to operational teams. Allocate and oversee team resources across safety, health, environment, and quality to meet all project requirements. Foster a strong safety culture promoting care, compliance, and quality excellence. Collaborate across Transport operations to lead and influence the safety agenda amid competing priorities. Coach and train project staff in LWT, LEAD, and CRP programs to strengthen safety capability. Support teams in managing critical risk controls, providing expert safety advice and practical solutions. Drive performance in workers’ compensation, injury management, and early intervention. Oversee Business Continuity and crisis management planning for the project. Act as the key contact for all project incidents, ensuring thorough reviews, audits, and reporting. Lead assurance, auditing, and inspection programs; monitor performance and identify improvement opportunities. Manage compliance with certifications, accreditations, and evolving legislative requirements. Prepare accurate safety reports for Ventia and clients, ensuring transparency and continuous improvement. Undertake additional tasks as required by the Manager, within scope of skills and experience. About You Extensive experience as a Health & Safety leader with a strong background in heavy industry, services, or construction. Qualified in OHS, science, engineering, or a related field. Skilled in applying legislation and standards to drive safe, compliant operations. Proven ability to turn SHEQ strategies into effective, on-the-ground actions. Track record of achieving safety objectives and fostering a positive safety culture. Strong client relationship and stakeholder management skills. Passionate about continuous improvement and innovation. Effective people leader focused on performance and engagement. Keen to leverage technology to enhance safety and service delivery.
