Aspect Personnel are currently working with a council in Melbourne's West to recruit an experienced Project Manager. The role will be an initial 6 month contract. You will be responsible for leading the construction phase of key major community building projects including community hubs, pavilions and an aquatic centre. You will be responsible for: Coordinate and liaise with contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders to ensure project milestones and quality standards are met. Monitor project progress, conduct regular site inspections, and address any issues or risks promptly to maintain project timelines. Manage contracts, variations, and procurement activities in line with council policies and regulations. Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety standards, building codes, and environmental regulations throughout the construction process. Prepare and present regular project reports and updates to senior management and council committees. Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between project teams, community groups, and other stakeholders. Implement risk management strategies to mitigate project risks and resolve conflicts as they arise. As the ideal candidate you will have: A tertiary qualification in Building Construction, Architecture, Project Management, Engineering or a related discipline with relevant experience Experience in project and/ or construction management Previous experience successfully delivering Capital Works Projects to time, quality and budget constraints Great stakeholder management skills Excellent communication skills both written and verbal Local Government experience or experience managing council projects A current driver’s license If you would like to review a position description, discuss this role in more detail or discuss other opportunities within Local Government, please contact: Michael Parker on or send an email to Alternatively, you can apply by using the link below.
