Role Description This is a full‑time position for a Senior Experienced Audio‑Visual Service Technician servicing both the Greater Sydney Area and open to work Australia wide on site‑specific projects. The technician will be responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing faults and maintaining Audio‑Visual (AV) systems, lighting, projectors, etc. You will also be responsible for installation and integration of AV systems to match our client’s needs. Responsibilities Demonstrated competency in operating audio visual equipment Work closely with clients to understand their AV needs and offer tailored solutions Lead and mentor junior technicians, ensuring high standards of work Install, move and modify audio visual equipment and other related equipment according to job specifications, standards and procedures Good understanding of IT networks Connecting systems, i.e. patching in equipment racks Strong understanding of cable infrastructure and termination Properly mount (secure, level, centre) various equipment including LCDs, projectors, speakers and other audio visual equipment Read and interpret schematic diagrams and drawings Provide feedback to project engineers when required Diagnose equipment malfunctions Follow standardised test procedures Systems functionality testing Maintain and repair equipment according to manufacturer recommendations and specifications Maintain and report accurate records of hours and materials used Train the customer on system use and how to obtain system maintenance if required Undertake service calls when required Perform additional functions incidental to installation activities Troubleshooting ability Knowledge of the AV Industry and working components Knowledge of AV Control Systems and programming Skills and Experience Proficient in Audio Visual (AV) Systems and troubleshooting skills Knowledge of lighting and projector technologies Ability to effectively communicate technical problems to clients Strong communication skills and ability to work independently Experience in the Audio‑Visual industry is essential Driver's Licence Associate certifications advantageous, Cert II / III Telecommunications, Cablers Licence, White Card, EWP Ticket etc. What We're Looking For Experience with Live and Virtual events Strong knowledge of Madmapper, Resolume and other mapping software (i.e. WATCHOUT, Disguise) Setup, video and data networking, LED Wall setup and programming Ability to work under pressure Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills High standard of personal presentation Riggers Ticket (highly regarded) Relevant technical certifications in AV technology A commitment to staying informed about the latest industry developments Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team What We Can Offer You “Great Place To Work” ensuring a supportive and engaging work environment Diversity, equity and inclusion programmes that foster a welcoming and inclusive workplace for all Ample opportunities for career progression and professional growth Commitment to sustainability initiatives, contributing to a greener future Requirements Hold a valid unrestricted NSW driver’s licence A thorough understanding of health and safety regulations and requirements Be mature, well presented and hold themselves to the highest of standards Seniority level Mid‑Senior level Employment type Full‑time Job function Design, Art/Creative, and Information Technology Industries Events Services Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at Be Productions by 2x.
