Armchair Adventures & Great Conversations Volunteer (ACVVS), East Hills Armchair Adventures & Great Conversations Weekday Volunteer Do you love to travel or simply love sharing stories about the places you've been? A friendly and curious gentleman in our aged care community would truly enjoy your company. He is passionate about hearing travel tales from near and far, and loves chatting over a coffee, going for walks, fishing, and watching TV. While he is no longer exploring the world himself, he lights up when hearing about others' journeys and adventures. We’re looking for a weekday volunteer who enjoys meaningful conversation and has a story or two to share. Your time could open up a world of connection, joy, and companionship. If you're ready to make someone's day and maybe revisit your own travel memories along the way, we'd love to hear from you. Your Impact Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit and for yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help improve quality of life and help older people feel less isolated. Your visits will bring great joy to the clients you are matched with. HammondCare HammondCare is an independent Christian charity and we're passionate about improving the quality of life for people in need. We have a wonderful group of volunteers that partner with us to enhance the lives of the clients cared for by HammondCare. HammondCare is a provider of The Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme funded by the Australian Government and is established to promote links between elderly people and volunteers in their local community. Role Details Category: Seniors & Aged Care Commitment: Regular - more than 6 months Type Of Work: Companionship & Social Support, Seniors & Aged Care Time Required: 30 minutes per week or fortnight between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday for 6 months or longer. We would be happy to arrange a suitable day and time.
