Our low carbon vision, targets 10% renewable gas in our distribution networks by no later than 2030, with full decarbonisation of our networks by 2040 as a stretch target and by no later than 2050.About the OpportunityThe Graduate System Operations Engineer role will primarily support the Engineering and Standards team in the day-to-day operations of the gas network. This role will work closely with our Team Leader – System Operations ensuring Multinet Gas Network’s (MGN) pipelines and distribution systems are designed, operated and maintained in a safe and efficient manner. You’ll learn from experienced professionals and be provided with continual training and support to help guide you towards your future career goals.Key Responsibilities:Supporting the Engineering & Standards Group in implementing the long-term strategies to maintain MGN’s assetsUndertaking specific engineering tasks under direction of the Team Leader – System OperationsMonitoring and assessing the performance of gas network plant and equipmentSupporting the development of Asset Management Asset Lifecycle Strategies and Plans, as well as review and management of asset maintenance plans and work packages.Developing technical and engineering manuals and standards for gas assets.Investigating and assessing new materials, equipment and servicesProviding technical assistance and support regarding asset replacement projects, and engineering functionsAbout YouDegree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical) in a relevant fieldAbility to problem solve, and think strategicallyStrong communicationAble to interpret requirements and translate into actionable plansTeam PlayerDemonstrated analytical thinkingAble to lead by example in behaviour and valuesExperience working within utilities (Desirable)What we offerWe are proud to be recognised as an inclusive employer by Diversity Council Australia, and our commitment to diversity and inclusion has earned us recognition in 2023-2024.
