Casual Retail Shop Assistant – The Butcher at Arnold’s The Butcher at Arnold’s is seeking a dedicated, customer-focused Retail Shop Assistant to join our friendly, hardworking team. This is a hands‑on role perfect for someone who enjoys working in a fast‑paced retail environment. We’re a busy butcher shop operating 7 days a week. The successful applicant will play a key role in day-to-day retail operations and assisting management, price changes, and general store performance. About the Role This casual position involves retail assistant duties. You must be available for early mornings, late finishes, and weekend shifts , including a full weekend (Saturday & Sunday) every 3 weeks . Saturday: 6:30am–3:30pmSunday: 7:30am–4:00pm You must have: A valid Working with Children Check (must be presented at interview). Previous supervisory experience is an advantage. Retail or customer service experience. A proactive attitude and attention to detail. Key Responsibilities: Stocking shelves and maintaining presentation standards. Assisting customers and providing exceptional customer service. Ensuring correct stock rotation and checking expiry dates. Maintaining store cleanliness and organisation of the store, including shelves and storage areas. Assisting with unloading deliveries and restocking shelves. Ensuring all items are clearly labelled and priced . Handling customer complaints calmly and professionally. Collaborate with team members to create a pleasant shopping experience for customers. Perform other duties as assigned by the management team. Qualifications: Previous retail experience is essential. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Ability to multitask. Ability to handle physical tasks and be on your feet for long periods. A team player with strong work ethic. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining store standards.
