The Company We're delighted to be partnering with a highly respected, family owned meat supplier to support their search for an exceptional, high end Store Manager. This is a rare opportunity to step into a leadership role within one of Melbourne’s busiest, most premium butcher shops who is supported by one of Australia’s top meat wholesalers and an incredible portfolio of renowned brands including Cape Grim, Robbins Island Wagyu, Roaring Forties Lamb, Otway Pork, Black Opal Wagyu and Japanese Wagyu. The store enjoys constant foot traffic, a vibrant market atmosphere and a customer base that values quality and is willing to pay for the very best. The successful Manager will become the key driver of performance, culture and customer experience, elevating an already outstanding offering to the next level. You’ll work directly with the owners, who remain hands on part time, but you will be entrusted to run the retail operation as if it were your own. This is a high turnover, high-expectation environment suited to a confident leader who thrives on ownership, pace and excellence. The Opportunity Opening and closing procedures, cash handling and security. Contributing to P&L management and delivering agreed targets. Driving continuous improvement across all operational areas. Managing stock rotation, ordering, window presentation and merchandising. Ensuring quality control, costings, yields and price management. Executing specials, new products and range development. Overseeing cutting, boning, production and value added product ranges. Delivering exceptional shop presentation, visual merchandising and customer engagement. Maintaining hygiene, food safety, cleaning processes and organisational systems. Full responsibility for recruitment, training, rostering and performance management. Setting the tone for culture, service standards and team professionalism. The Candidate Most importantly, you’ll bring a passion for quality, a commitment to excellence and a genuine desire to deliver an elevated market experience for every customer who walks through the door. Previous demonstrated experience of successfully running a busy retail butcher shop. Trade qualifications as a retail butcher and manager. Strong leadership capability with proven staff management experience. High level presentation skills, especially with shop windows and displays. A creative approach to new products and value added ranges. The ability to operate confidently in a fast paced environment with many moving parts. A positive, proactive attitude and the ability to set the standard every day. The Offer An exceptionally competitive, industry leading salary package will be offered. Tailored to the experience and expertise of the successful candidate. Currently sitting around the $120,000 mark but open for negotiations. Located in an inner city suburb of Melbourne.
