Patient Liaison Officer (Administrative Officer Level 6) – NSW Health Employment Type: Temporary Full Time up to May 2026 Position Classification: Administrative Officer Level 6 Remuneration: $1,601.31 - $1,639.17 per week + Annual leave loading + Superannuation Location: Royal Prince Alfred Hospital Requisition ID: REQ About The Role Formed in 1882, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH) is a major metropolitan tertiary referral hospital and a principal provider of specialist healthcare. It remains one of the nation’s most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities. The Patient Liaison Officer (PLO) plays a pivotal role in the Local Health District’s strategy to raise additional revenue from patients electing to use their Private Health Insurance. The position is responsible for developing effective relationships with key stakeholders and providing customer focused information regarding their financial options. The role supports patients and staff with patient election choices, maximises patient fee revenue, and ensures admitted patient financial records are complete and compliant with the National Healthcare Agreement, NSW Health and LHD policies and procedures. Qualifications & Ideal Candidate Has relevant experience in a revenue, finance or similar position in a hospital setting, with demonstrated ability to meet revenue targets. Must be able to work a 7-day rotating roster within the operational hours of 7:30 am to 8:30 pm, including weekends and public holidays. Excellent communication and customer service experience including a high level of advocacy and negotiation skills, with the ability to deal sensitively and professionally with patients, their families, other staff and stakeholders involved in the financial case management process.
