Doncaster East, Victoria – Doncaster East Depot Position Fixed term full‑time apprenticeship (3 years). Commences February 2026. Salary & benefits Starting at approximately $68,000 + 12% superannuation, allowances & fortnightly RDO Responsibilities Assist in the upkeep and presentation of Council’s parks, gardens, and open spaces through horticultural maintenance activities. Operate and maintain tools, equipment, and machinery safely and effectively. Accurately record operational tasks using the Council’s asset management system. Work collaboratively within a team to meet service delivery and customer satisfaction goals. Participate in training and contribute to maintaining a safe work environment. Attend scheduled tertiary training at a Registered Training Organisation (RTO). Follow direction, complete landscape works to a high standard and embrace feedback. Assess situations, arrive at appropriate work solutions, and demonstrate sound judgement. Have a passion for horticulture and a desire to continually improve. Enhance and develop your skills in the maintenance of parks and gardens. Qualifications & skills Good communication skills (verbal and written), tech‑savvy, proactive attitude with drive to develop technical skills. Genuine interest in horticulture and the environment, reliability, eagerness to learn, teamwork, and willingness to commit to a structured apprenticeship program. Previous horticultural or landscaping experience, including maintenance equipment usage, desirable but not essential. Current Victorian Driver’s Licence essential.
