If this sounds like you, come and join us The Opportunity We’re looking for an experienced Project Manager to work on a 12 month max-term contract in our Melbourne office, to lead the delivery of strategic initiatives that span multiple technology squads. This role blends traditional project management with agile leadership, making it ideal for someone who thrives in both structured and adaptive environments. As a Project Manager, you’ll be responsible for planning, risk management, reporting, and stakeholder alignment—while also acting as a Scrum Master, coaching teams on agile practices, facilitating ceremonies, supporting healthy and sustainable squad performance, and removing delivery roadblocks. What you’ll be doing day-to-day As the Project Manager you’ll serve as both a delivery leader and a servant-leader, ensuring initiatives are executed predictably and aligned with business objectives, while empowering squads to maintain velocity, quality, and agile discipline. Your responsibilities will also include, Delivery Leadership (Project Management Focus) Lead the delivery of cross-functional initiatives involving multiple technology squads and business streams Develop and manage initiative-level plans, milestones, and integrated delivery timelines Manage initiative budget and forecasts to ensure financial visibility and alignment to delivery scope and schedule Monitor progress, identify risks and dependencies, and escalate issues as needed to ensure successful outcomes Provide clear and consistent status updates to Program Managers, Initiative Owners, and governance forums Align technology delivery with go-to-market strategies and business readiness requirements Agile Coaching & Team Enablement (Scrum Master Focus) Coach squads on agile principles, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration Facilitate agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives Promote transparency and accountability through agile tooling and performance metrics Support teams in managing scope, priorities, and sustainable delivery commitments Proactively identify and remove delivery impediments at both team and cross-team levels Stakeholder Engagement & Alignment Act as a key liaison between technology squads, initiative owners, go-to-market leads, and business stakeholders Identify and manage cross-squad dependencies early to avoid delivery bottlenecks Ensure alignment between delivery timelines and operational or market readiness plans Quality & Velocity Enablement Champion agile quality practices including definition of done, testing standards, and quality gates Monitor squad velocity and cadence, supporting healthy and sustainable delivery rhythms Advocate for a balanced approach between speed of delivery and long-term maintainability What you’ll bring to this role Demonstrated proven experience delivering complex technology initiatives in Agile or hybrid environments Strong working knowledge of Agile frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, or similar Proven hands-on experience as a Project Manager, Scrum Master, or in a dual-role capacity Excellent facilitation and coaching skills, with a servant-leadership mindset Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills across both technical and business domains Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive alignment across multiple squads and teams What We Offer Working at Vocus will give you rewarding experiences and the opportunity to do extraordinary work.
