About the role As part of our kitchen operations team, you'll play a key role in delivering exceptional food experiences across our function spaces and Hurricanes Café . This is a hands‑on role where no two days are the same, perfect for someone who loves variety and teamwork. Key Responsibilities Assist with food preparation and plating for events and café service. Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene. Support the Head Chef and kitchen team during peak service times. Help with stock rotation, cleaning, and general kitchen duties. What We're Looking For Previous experience with function catering in commercial kitchens and/or café environment (preferred but not essential). A positive attitude and willingness to learn. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Strong teamwork and communication skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to contribute effectively in a team environment. Calm manner and ability to cope well in a busy hospitality environment. A Cert III or above in Commercial Cookery. Completed Food Safety Supervisor Training. Have a Tasmanian WVVP for employment or willingness to obtain. Experience working independently in a kitchen environment. Why Join Us?
