About the Clinic A small animal clinic in Melbourne’s inner northwest is seeking a qualified veterinary nurse to join their friendly, close-knit team. Independently owned and family‑run, the practice has built an excellent reputation for both the quality of its care and the positive, respectful culture it fosters among staff. Job Summary This is a fantastic opportunity to work alongside a highly regarded team of vets and nurses who genuinely support one another. You’ll be part of a clinic that values teamwork, kindness and open communication, both within the team and with clients. Nurses enjoy a four‑day work week, with one rostered weekday off, and every second Saturday from 8:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. Weekday shifts vary slightly, with typical hours being 8:15 a.m. to 6 p.m. or 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday shifts are well‑staffed with two vets and three nurses on duty. Nurses rotate between surgical, inpatient, and reception duties to keep the role varied and engaging. Responsibilities Assist with surgical, inpatient, and reception duties on a rotating basis. Provide routine care and support veterinary staff during clinical procedures. Maintain hygiene and equipment standards in a state‑of‑the‑art facility. Communicate effectively with clients and support a culture of kindness and open communication. Benefits Full‑time position with the possibility of part‑time consideration. Four‑day work week (including a Saturday shift) with no after‑hours or Sunday work. Clinic hours: 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays. New, state‑of‑the‑art hospital with DR radiography, Idexx ProCyte, Catalyst One analyzers, IM3 dental unit, dental x‑rays, Tonopen, ultrasound, and advanced anaesthetic monitoring equipment. Consideration for sponsorship for a qualified and experienced nurse who can start on a working holiday visa. Ongoing growth and expansion of the veterinary team, including a new vet who has completed a surgical internship. Location in a vibrant, family‑friendly part of Melbourne with easy access to the CBD via major freeways. Qualifications Qualified veterinary nurse with relevant experience.
