TAS Teacher (Industrial Arts) - Canterbury, NSW. Salary - $99,000 - $140,000 About the Role: This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Industrial Arts educator to join a highly regarded independent school renowned for its commitment to academic excellence, character development, and strong pastoral care. The successful candidate will deliver engaging, hands‑on lessons across the TAS curriculum, with a strong focus on Design & Technology, Engineering Studies, and Industrial Technology – Timber and/or Metal. Key Duties: Deliver high‑quality, practical and theory‑based lessons across Stages 4–6 in Industrial Arts subjects. Inspire students to develop technical, design, and problem‑solving skills through project‑based and workshop learning. Integrate CAD design, digital fabrication, and emerging technologies into teaching practice. Ensure safe and effective workshop management in compliance with WHS standards. Collaborate with colleagues to design engaging programmes that align with NESA outcomes. Contribute to co‑curricular and extension programmes that foster innovation, creativity, and applied learning. Requirements: Formal teaching qualifications in Technology and Applied Studies (TAS) or Industrial Arts. Current registration with NESA, including recent classroom experience. Current First Aid Certificate. Valid NSW Working with Children Check. Demonstrated ability to engage and inspire students through practical, hands‑on learning. A connection with the Christian Mission of the School. Desirable: Experience teaching Stage 6 Design & Technology, Engineering Studies, or Industrial Technology (Timber/Metal). Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Fusion 360) and modern workshop tools. Familiarity with WHS compliance and workshop safety management. Experience with STEM and inquiry‑based learning approaches. Postgraduate qualifications or leadership experience in curriculum development (advantageous).
