Operations and Tasking Coordinator/Team Leader The role is working within the Road Policing Drug & Alcohol Section of Victoria Police, to provide support to the Operations Unit. The position is located at the Police Complex at 20 Dawson Street Brunswick. The Operations Unit is responsible for maintaining and deploying the 'Alcohol and Drug Testing (ADT) Vehicles' (booze buses) and targeting drivers impaired by alcohol or other drugs. The Operations Unit is supported by the Technical Unit which manages the administrative functions of the program. We are currently seeking a capable Operations and Tasking Coordinator/Team Leader to join our team and provide operational tasking support and coordination for the RPDAS Operations Unit, including managing and leading a small team of Administration Assistants. This role is critical to ensuring the effective rostering and deployment of Victoria Police's ADT vehicles in support of the impaired driver program. Using your analytical skills and experience you will support RPDAS Management in the extensive planning and preparation for the arrival and departure of New Police Constables at the Operations Unit. Your stakeholder engagement and communication skills will be utilised to engage with the Regions to gather operational intelligence which you will use to prepare briefings to Management that will guide and inform decision making. This position will have two report directly to the Senior Sergeant at RPDAS, and subsequently to the Inspector in Charge of Operations at RPDAS. An induction program and full training of the role and position requirements will assist the successful applicant to confidently carry out their position duties. Your duties will include: Overseeing a small team that is responsible for supporting RPDAS Management in tasking and coordinating drug and alcohol bus shifts; Assisting with drug and alcohol bus shift deployment planning and liaising with the Victoria Police regions; Assisting with the coordination and planning of Strategic Enhanced Enforcement Program (SEEP); Researching and conducting analysis on trauma related data to assist with drug and alcohol bus deployment planning; Collecting, collating and evaluating information to produce high quality intelligence reports to assist management; Conducting audits on systems and processes with view to improve business; and Preparing for the arrival/departure of New Police Constables at the Operations Unit About You: The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience: Demonstrated experience managing and leading a small team; Relevant experience in tasking, coordination, rostering or logistical operations; Well-developed analytical, research and written communication skills; Demonstrated experience in building and sustaining productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including the ability to cooperatively work with a range of stakeholders; Ability to negotiate and influence stakeholders; Demonstrated administration and reporting experience and capability, including the ability to achieve objectives within tight timeframes, and actively engage stakeholders; Well-developed written and oral communication skills with the ability to deal effectively with both internal and external key stakeholders; Experience in using IT applications and data-bases such as the Microsoft Office suite Ability to maintain relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, negotiate the resolution of administrative issues, and contribute and cooperate to achieve positive workplace outcomes; Ability to work by direction as well as autonomously on your own initiative and be self-motivated and driven; and Ability to effectively and flexibly operate in a dynamic and diverse working environment.
