The CNS2 in the Acute Surgical Unit (ASU) provides advanced clinical leadership and specialist nursing support in the management of patients admitted with acute surgical conditions at Wollongong Hospital. The role focuses on delivering safe, efficient, and evidence‑based surgical care from admission through to discharge. Responsibilities Provide advanced clinical leadership and specialist nursing support for patients with acute surgical conditions. Perform early recognition and management of deteriorating patients. Support and drive clinical decision‑making with the multidisciplinary team to optimise patient outcomes and flow. Act as a clinical resource, educating and supporting nursing staff across the hospital for all acute surgical patients. Promote excellence in acute surgical nursing through leadership in practice development and quality improvement initiatives within the surgical service. Qualifications & Requirements Applicable vaccination requirements for a Category A role. Working With Children Check (WWCC). Current AHPRA Registration. Valid NSW Drivers Licence. Relevant post‑registration qualification and at least 3 years of experience in the clinical area of your specified post‑graduate qualification, or equivalent experience deemed appropriate.
