Children's Contact Service: Team Leader

Part time: 43 hours per fortnight, which includes 3 weekdays, and an alternate Saturday. Weekly Friday are necessary. Other days can be negotiated. Midland Following parental separation, itis important for children’s well-being and development that they remain connected with significant people in their lives, and that they be shielded from conflict and abuse. The Children's Contact Service provides safe and supportive ways for children to transition between separated parents (supervised changeovers), and establish or maintain relationships with the parent/carer they do not live with and with other family members (supervised contact visits). Over the last 70 years Relationships Australia WA has been providing relationship support services for individuals, couples, families and communities. About the role We are offering a permanent position for the role of Team Leader in the team at our Midland branch. Working alongside their co-Team Leader, in consultation with the Practice Leads, reporting to the Program Manager, the Team Leader is primarily responsible for case coordination of clients and providing leadership to the Family Contact Workers. This role oversees the clinical and administrative work of the child contact service, managing risk and liaising with relevant authorities such as the Family Court of WA, to support clients to navigate their contact arrangements. The current vacancy is 43 hours per fortnight. Skills, experience, and qualifications Tertiary qualification in behavioural and social sciences fields, such as Social Work, Counselling or Psychology Significant experience in working with children and families Knowledge and skills in working with people in crisis, and who present with challenging behaviours Possession of a current National Police Certificate Possession of a current Working With Children check Flexibility to occasionally work on weekends Knowledge and understanding of Family Law and/or issues around separated families including children’s contact issues Knowledge and understanding of family abuse and domestic violence dynamics Knowledge and understanding of child development and child welfare and protection issues Why Join Us?
