A fantastic full-time, permanent opportunity has arisen for a Pre-Owned Vehicle Buyer to join our team at Penske Automotive Australia . This role is integral to maintaining a premium selection of high-quality pre-owned Porsche vehicles across our Melbourne dealerships. With regular travel between Porsche sites, you will play a key part in ensuring our stock remains aligned with brand expectations, commercial objectives, and customer demand. In this role, you will: Source & Acquire High-Quality Stock Proactively identify and secure pre-owned Porsche vehicles from private sellers, auctions, internal trade-ins, wholesale partners, and dealer networks Conduct detailed appraisals, inspections, and condition assessments Ensure all acquisitions meet Porsche's strict brand standards and Penske's commercial requirements Negotiate competitive purchase terms to secure profitable, high-demand stock Maintain a strong and consistent pipeline of vehicles to support sales activities across all Porsche dealerships Build & Strengthen Key Relationships Develop strong relationships with wholesalers, suppliers, private sellers, and internal dealership teams Work closely with Pre-Owned Managers and General Managers to understand stock needs and priority models Represent Porsche and Penske Automotive Australia with professionalism and integrity Analyse Markets & Commercial Opportunities Stay across pre-owned market trends, seasonal shifts, and pricing changes Conduct competitor analysis to ensure accurate valuations and commercially sound buying decisions Provide regular reporting on market insights, acquisition pipeline, and stock performance Manage Compliance & Documentation Ensure all vehicles meet compliance obligations and Porsche brand requirements Complete all PPSR checks, valuations, invoices, and condition reporting with meticulous accuracy Maintain thorough and timely records of all purchases Adhere to Penske Automotive Australia's authority levels and compliance frameworks Support Operational Excellence Liaise with service, detailing, and pre-delivery teams to ensure vehicles are prepared in a timely manner Assist dealership teams with queries related to stock, valuations, and sourcingParticipate in stock reviews, strategy meetings, and performance discussions About You: Proven experience in used-car buying, wholesale, or pre-owned operations Strong knowledge of the automotive market-luxury or performance brand experience highly regarded Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly Sharp commercial acumen and strong analytical capability Highly organised, detail-oriented, and confident in working independently Ability to assess vehicle condition, evaluate risk, and make informed purchasing decisions A valid Australian driver's licence is essential Experience within Porsche or another high-end dealership environment is desirable About Us: Porsche Centre Brighton is part of the Penske Australia Group , recognised for exceptional customer service, premium automotive expertise, and high-performance brand representation.
