In this highly influential role, you will not only ensure the highest standards of care through the nursing and midwifery workforce, you will also play a key role in contributing to the professional landscape in MSH, Queensland Health and beyond.This pivotal role provides high-level advice to the Chief Executive Officer and Board on all matters related to nursing and midwifery, ensuring a robust governance framework, and maintaining professional standards for over 8,000 nursing and midwifery staff.We are the major public healthcare provider for Brisbane's south side, Logan, Redlands and the Scenic Rim. The appointee will ensure the professional practice framework supports high standards of safety, quality, and functionality, enhancing patient care and organisational excellence. The Executive Director will provide strategic and operational leadership for nursing and midwifery services across MSH, overseeing governance, innovation, education, workforce development, research, recruitment, and retention strategies.Additionally, the EDNMS will play a leadership role in the ongoing development of the nursing and midwifery profession beyond the bounds of MSH, contributing to workforce and professional development strategies at a State, National and International level.The EDNMS ensures compliance with WHS and industrial relations legislation and managing financial and human resources effectively. The appointee will foster relationships with senior stakeholders, government departments, and external partners, implementing robust governance systems to enhance service delivery and professional practice. Additionally, this role will drive strategic planning and performance improvement initiatives, leading the development and execution of nursing and midwifery strategic plans aligned with MSH priorities.About YouYou are a highly experienced leader with:Extensive experience in a senior leadership role within a large healthcare organisation, with expertise in nursing and midwifery.Strong capabilities in strategic planning, financial management, and governance.Proven ability to build and maintain senior stakeholder relationships and foster organizational growth.Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with a focus on team leadership and high-performance culture.In-depth knowledge of WHS, industrial relations, and professional standards.A commitment to professional excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.A track record of enabling, or personally leading research in relevant areas.Personal AttributesHigh integrity and a client-focused approach.Excellent organizational skills and the ability to delegate and monitor work effectively.Strong initiative, resilience, and the ability to influence and inspire others.Further information
