Clinical Specialist - Youth Mood Clinic (YMC) Region A Parkville Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing Service (PYMHWS) – dedicated to caring for young people aged 12‑25 across Melbourne’s north and west. As a new public mental health service, PYMHWS combines world‑leading research, clinical excellence and dedicated governance to deliver person‑centred care. About the Role The Clinical Specialist in the Youth Mood Stream – Region A will support YMC clinicians in implementing specialist clinical interventions such as psychological, family, domestic violence, Alcohol and Drug, Physical Health, Ultra‑High Risk for psychosis, Neurodevelopmental and Eating Disorders interventions. This includes direct clinical work with clients and families, supervision, mentoring, and staff education. Staff may travel to other sites such as Parkville, Footscray, Wyndham, Sunshine, Melton; working hours include travel time and vehicle allowances. Responsibilities Provide clinical leadership, supervision, mentoring and training across specialist interventions. Support team leaders with clinical operations, including allocation, reviews and incident response. Contribute to strategic service model development and project work in partnership with leadership and research. Deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based care, including case management, assessments and interventions. Conduct risk assessments, psychological treatment, crisis response and family/system support. Qualifications Eligible disciplines: RPN Grade 5 / Occupational Therapist, Social Worker and Psychologist Grade 4. Relevant registration and qualifications (details per position description). Minimum of 10 years’ experience in clinical practice in the mental health field with young people experiencing severe mental health disorders. Experience in clinical assessment, risk management and delivering specialist interventions for complex depression and anxiety. Background in team support and service development. Excellent communication, organisation and leadership skills. Motivated by youth‑focused, inclusive and recovery‑oriented care. Experience and/or interest in OCD and/or Bipolar Disorder is highly desired. Benefits Fixed Term until Sept 2026 | Part‑Time 0.8 EFT | Parkville & other sites.
