Social Support - Friendly Visitor - hallam Southen Migrant and Refugee Centre – Hallam VIC Overview The Community visitor volunteer will minimise the social isolation experienced by an elderly resident through the provision of companionship and support on a regular basis. The volunteer will act as a link between the elderly person and his/her respective community. The focus of this program is to provide confidential one‑to‑one companionship and friendship to seniors who live in their own homes or in an aged care facility and either experience or are at risk of experiencing social isolation. Responsibilities Visit an elderly person in their home once per week or fortnight for 1/2 hours. Commit to 12 months in this role.
