Overview Data Center IT Support Engineer role at Amazon Web Services (AWS). AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We keep the cloud running and support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure continual access to our customers’ innovations. We work on challenging problems to help deliver reliable services. Responsibilities Maintain a high level of system (Server/Network) reliability by prioritizing and resolving trouble tickets efficiently Share knowledge and educate less technical staff on best practices in Data Center Operations Serve as a technical escalation point for other team members Participate in and deliver on high-impact projects Contribute to and improve operational efficiency Additional Role Requirements Bend, lift, stretch, and reach; climb ladders, stairs, and gangways safely 24/7 shift coverage is required and includes 12-hour rotating shifts (may change based on business needs) Because of site locations, candidates should possess a valid driver’s license and their own vehicle About The Team Diverse experiences are valued. Basic Qualifications 3+ years of server hardware management, network management, and troubleshooting experience Experience with network hardware: copper and optical fiber cabling, switches, routers Experience with storage subsystems Linux administration knowledge and experience Preferred Qualifications Associate’s degree or higher in an IT-related field with relevant certifications or equivalent professional/military experience Experience in a Data Centre environment (racking/stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment) Networking experience with CCNA and/or Network+ certifications Acknowledgement Of Country Amazon acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community.
