About the role We are looking for a seasoned HR Team Leader to lead a team of HR professionals supporting our bauxite mine in Weipa for our Aluminium Operations. This role is a great opportunity for someone who has a passion for developing people, is a true collaborator, a trusted advisor and HR innovator. Reporting to the People Experience HR Manager, you will be: Participating or leading multiple cross‑functional initiatives, providing HR subject matter expert input and project leadership. Imparting knowledge and your experiences to the team on their key areas of responsibility including employee relations matters, building leader capability, best practice HR systems and processes, facilitating organisational change and leading HR projects. Providing guidance to the wider team and reporting to the senior leadership team on complex people matters. Balancing busy workloads and complex stakeholder relationships and demonstrating your leadership capability through effectively engaging at all levels of the business. Supporting the implementation of Workday platform and supporting site‑based leaders with this platform integration. Partnering with HRBPs to identify and prioritise people priorities to support the business strategy and HR operational delivery. Demonstrated record as an influencer, the ability to build strong relationships and have a true impact on outcomes. Capacity and versatility to operate in a large organisation which involves delivering business objectives remotely and across a diverse workforce. The ability to thrive in a continuous improvement culture with a strong commitment to team‑based processes and outcomes. An astute and well‑rounded leader who has proven techniques in providing robust HR solutions to relieve pain points for leaders. Ability to think strategically and commercially, approach solutions creatively and consider organisation‑wide impacts. Solid generalist HR and ER experience (5‑10 years) with extensive experience with case management. Proven team leadership and influencing skills are essential for this role. Experience with Workday is beneficial. RAHATA Allowance of $15,000 per annum to be utilised for flights and accommodation. Weipa Accommodation Benefit (WAB) to assist with providing accommodation for yourself and your dependents who reside in the same household. Paid parental leave up to 4.5 months full pay and 9 months half pay, after 6 months of continuous service. Health cover scheme for employees and their immediate family. Where you’ll be working Our Weipa Operations includes three bauxite mines, processing facilities, ship loaders, an export wharf, two ports, power stations, a rail network and ferry terminals. Located on the Western Cape York Peninsula in Far North Queensland, each year the operation produces more than 35 million tons of bauxite. Our operations are supported by a 1,900‑strong workforce—including 26 per cent who are women and 25 per cent Indigenous employees. Activities include mine operations, maintenance, asset management, ports, cultural heritage management, and processing facility management. The development of our new mine, Amrun, completed in 2018, will extend the life of our Weipa bauxite operations by decades to come and significantly build on our 55‑year history on the Western Cape.
