A day in the life As a lab engineer, you will be responsible for building and managing rapid prototypes and test equipment to support multiple areas of the program. An ideal candidate has a mix of skills and interests including networking, IT, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and software engineering and is interested in applying those skills to help build and maintain labs and test floors to develop and qualify a wide variety of products and technologies being developed at Amazon Robotics. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field Experience with the project management of technical projects Experience with network equipment installation and configuration Experience troubleshooting and documenting findings, or experience in agile/scrum or related collaborative workflow 5+ years of experience in mechanical, electrical, and system‑level lab management Knowledge and hands‑on knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, DHCP, SSH, SNMP, Telnet and DNS) Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field Experience with lab safety, security and quality practices Experience with managing robotics or mechatronics labs System design interfacing to a wide array of electro‑mechanical subsystems and debugging experience Experience with configuring and maintaining VLANs Experience with 3D modeling packages (ProE/CREO, SolidWorks) 3D printers, and other prototyping equipment Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. The base pay for this position ranges from $123,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $213,000/year in our highest geographic market.
