Senior Psychologist, AH4 (Fixed‑term until 29 June 2026) The Student Support Services (SSS) team is looking for a Senior Psychologist to work full time in schools located in the northern suburbs of Melbourne, based in Greensborough. Purpose The SSS team assists children and young people facing a range of barriers to learning, helping them achieve their educational and developmental potential. We provide strategies and specialised support at the individual, group, school and team level, working collaboratively with schools, students and families to improve emotional health and wellbeing. Key Responsibilities As a SSS Psychologist you will: work as part of a multidisciplinary, area‑based team of allied health professionals; provide comprehensive services to schools and students, enhancing developmental and learning outcomes and supporting student health and wellbeing; undertake advanced interventions that support students and schools; collaborate with other professionals on complex cases, including supporting teachers in developing educational programmes for students with additional needs. Areas of Support learning issues, cognitive issues, behavioural issues disabilities, mental health, school and work transitions self‑esteem, grief and loss, trauma, anger management relationships, conflict, sexuality, drug/alcohol involvement Key Qualities Expert advice: Provide advice that influences teaching and learning strategies and student wellbeing programs for school leadership teams. Communication: Highly developed communication, networking and interpersonal skills; liaison with a range of people in the education community and beyond. Leadership: Provide leadership to the SSS team, manage service delivery within the multidisciplinary team and contribute to professional supervision and direction of other members. Flexibility: Ability to work autonomously when required and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Expert interventions and collaboration: Undertake advanced interventions and collaborate with other professionals on complex cases. Desirable Qualifications and Experience Required: Graduate or post‑graduate qualification in psychology and full registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioners Registration Agency (AHPRA). A valid Working with Children’s Check. Travel Requirement Travel to schools is a requirement as part of service delivery; staff have access to departmental fleet vehicles. SSS staff are allied health professionals who plan and deliver services collaboratively with schools.
