If you don't see an opportunity in your area, please call or email Job Description HammondCare pastoral care volunteers have an opportunity to support the spiritual and emotional needs of the elderly clients living in their home. As a pastoral care volunteer, you’ll be actively involved with a local Christian church. We are seeking a Pastoral Care Volunteer to visit an elderly lady living in North Turramurra. Our client would value regular companionship and robust conversations. She has a Methodist background but was part of the School of Philosophy for 40 years, which has had more of an impact on her life. She will benefit from having a pastoral care volunteer visit her. You’ll supplement and complement the work of our HammondCare At Home Pastoral Care Coordinator, and under their direction you may: Support people to meet their spiritual needs Skills required for this role: High level of interpersonal skills, including strong empathy and listening skills. Pastoral Care training for example Chaplaincy, Clinical Pastoral Education, or you could attend HammondCare pastoral care training - Spiritual Care Series, in preparation to becoming a pastoral care volunteer. Spiritual Care Series North Turramurra - Face to face When: starts Wednesday 7th May, concludes 2nd July 2025. Note a break for the week 4th June Time: 2:00 – 4:00pm Where: Leighton Lodge, Nth Turramurra Your impact Volunteering alongside Pastoral Care can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated.
