If you don't see an opportunity in your area, please call or email Overview HammondCare pastoral care volunteers have an opportunity to support the spiritual and emotional needs of the elderly clients living in their home. As a pastoral care volunteer, you’ll be actively involved with a local Christian church. A cuppa, a chat, and a sprinkle of faith, could you be the blessing someone is waiting for? Responsibilities Offer gentle companionship to a gentleman living at home with his granddaughter and great-grandchildren, focusing on one-on-one time for conversation, Bible reading or prayer. Supplement and complement the work of HammondCare At Home Pastoral Care Coordinator under their direction. Support people to meet their spiritual needs. Skills required High level of interpersonal skills, including strong empathy and listening skills. Pastoral care training (e.g., Chaplaincy, Clinical Pastoral Education) or willingness to attend HammondCare pastoral care training (Spiritual Care Series) to prepare for volunteering. Your impact Volunteering alongside Pastoral Care can be a rewarding experience for both the person visited and the volunteer. Regular visits can help improve quality of life and reduce feelings of isolation.
