Pastoral Care Volunteer (cuppa and a chat), Community Home Visits, Blacktown NSW HammondCare pastoral care volunteers have an opportunity to support the spiritual and emotional needs of the elderly clients living in their home. As a pastoral care volunteer you'll be actively involved with a local Christian church. A cuppa, a chat, and a sprinkle of faith, could you be the blessing someone is waiting for? We are looking for a kind-hearted volunteer to offer gentle companionship to a lovely gentleman living at home with his granddaughter and great-grandchildren. He treasures conversations about his life and family, and while he is surrounded by loved ones, he would truly enjoy one‑on‑one time for a cuppa, a chat, and quiet moments of Bible reading or prayer. This is a beautiful opportunity to walk alongside someone in faith, friendship, and meaningful fellowship - apply now to make a heartfelt difference. You’ll supplement and complement the work of our HammondCare At Home Pastoral Care Coordinator, and under their direction you may: Support people to meet their spiritual needs Nurture spiritual development Skills required for this role: High level of interpersonal skills, including strong empathy and listening skills. Pastoral Care training for example Chaplaincy, Clinical Pastoral Education, or you could attend HammondCare pastoral care training - Spiritual Care Series, in preparation to becoming a pastoral care volunteer. Your impact Volunteering along side Pastoral Care can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated.
