Advocacy Researcher – Ethical Fashion Baptist World Aid Australia Join to apply for the Advocacy Researcher – Ethical Fashion role at Baptist World Aid Australia. Location: North Ryde, NSW Position: Part time – 0.6 FTE / 3 days a week (6‑month contract) Key Focus Area: The Advocacy Researcher – Ethical Fashion supports the delivery of the Ethical Fashion Report & Guide, working closely with the Advocacy team and fashion company partners to influence the fashion industry and mobilise consumers for just outcomes. Effective delivery of Ethical Fashion research to ensure high‑quality, impactful outputs, by working closely with fashion companies and the research team for timely and accurate data collection. Create and collaborate on the delivery of impactful engagement and communication initiatives. Work as a team with Advocacy and broader National Engagement teams to ensure effective collaboration and shared processes. Responsibilities: The Advocacy Researcher is responsible for BWA’s research into labour rights, ethical purchasing and corporate responsibility campaigns, forums and collaboration initiatives. This includes participation in the ongoing review and production of the Ethical Fashion Report & Guide and assisting in the production of research and policy materials as required. Qualifications: Alignment to BWA’s mission, vision and core values. Deeply held commitment to justice and human rights. Proven capability to conduct thorough research, maintaining motivation, accuracy and attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to maintain relationships of influence with external stakeholders, including excellent relationship management and communication skills. Strong understanding of key issues relating to ethical sourcing, labour rights and sustainability. Proven capability to create engaging content and resources particularly related to ethical and sustainable consumption and production. Team player and contributor to cultures that deliver impact, accountability and continuous improvement. Demonstrated experience collaborating with and leading others to deliver complex projects on time. It would be an advantage if you had: Relevant experience which may include some combination of environmental, corporate (e.g. sustainability, procurement, or consulting roles), or civil society roles (e.g. labour or human rights organisations) or related applied or academic research.
