Oboe/Bassoon (Double-Reed) Tutor

We are seeking an Oboe Teacher from Term 1, 2026, to provide private and group tuition on Tuesday afternoons (12pm–4pm). This role is expected to expand as the Private Music Tuition enrolments increase with the opportunity for further growth into 2027. We are particularly interested in candidates who can teach double‑reeds at a beginner level, with the ability to guide bassoon lessons in the future being preferable. Responsibilities Tuesday afternoon commitment 12pm‑4pm Experience teaching Oboe and Bassoon at various levels from Years 3‑12 Demonstrated high level of performance ability on a double‑reed instrument Ability to work alongside a dynamic Wind, Brass, and Percussion team Willingness to contribute to both instrumental lessons and ensemble programs Flexibility to attend after‑hours events and concerts Enthusiasm, punctuality, commitment and reliability, with ongoing availability during School terms Excellent communication and record‑keeping skills Competent use of ICT to effectively prepare timetables, write reports, and communicate positively with parents Willingness to adopt Kodaly/Orff Schulwerk classroom methodologies into teaching practice Pre‑Employment Checks Provide NSW Working with Children Clearance number and date of birth Copies of related qualifications, training and transcripts (may need to be certified and/or translated) Proof of identity will be required Details of visa or work permit for verification, with the successful candidate maintaining current working rights in Australia Closing Date Monday 24 November 2025, by 4pm Applications should be submitted as soon as possible, and interviews may commence prior to the closing date.
