Cumberland City Council – Events Producer Location: Merrylands office (may also work across other Council work locations). Part‑time, 56 hour fortnights; core hours 8:00 am to 4:30 pm; may require after‑hours or weekend work. About The Opportunity The Events team delivers an annual program of welcoming major community events, civic events and activations that celebrate Cumberland’s rich cultural diversity, including Australia Day, Lunar New Year, Easter, Ramadan Street Festival, Nowruz, Diwali, Christmas and the Sydney Cherry Blossom Festival. The Events Producer will work with the Events Team to develop and implement Council’s Events Strategy and be responsible for planning, organising and executing a variety of Council events through the full event lifecycle from development, planning, delivery, evaluation, assessment and reporting. Qualifications Relevant qualification in Event Management or related industry experience. Extensive event management experience. Working knowledge of event site operations, logistics, risk management and compliance. Demonstrated interpersonal skills and stakeholder management experience. Project management skills. High level of interpersonal and customer service skills. Commitment to high‑quality customer service. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Commercially minded, with creative and innovative thinking. Research and analytical skills; able to work independently and as part of a team. Working with Children Check. Role Details Term contract, part‑time, commencing 12 January 2026 until 30 June 2026. Workload of 56 hour fortnights; core hours 8:00‑4:30; may need to work after hours and weekends. Located at Council’s Merrylands office. Salary Information Grade 11 of the Cumberland Salary Structure with an hourly rate of $50.44 to $58.00 per week plus 12% superannuation. Salary will be negotiated based on qualifications and experience. What You Need to Have Right to live and work in Australia.
