About the role As a Building Designer - mayde , you’ll be at the forefront of creating well‑planned, builder‑friendly homes that meet the needs of modern living. Working within an experienced team, you’ll develop innovative solutions that balance aesthetics, functionality, and compliance – ensuring projects are delivered on time and to a high standard. You’ll also stay ahead of market trends to ensure our designs meet the evolving needs of homeowners and builders alike. In this exciting role, you will report to the R&D Manager and play a key part in shaping innovative building and facade designs: Collaborate with sales managers to create and maintain the annual product release schedule, ensuring designs remain fresh and relevant. Lead the charge on building and facade design, turning concepts into reality. Work closely with our interiors team to create cohesive and functional internal designs. Partner with professional consultants and key suppliers, ensuring every design is accurate and compliant with industry standards. Take the lead on designing display homes and collaborate with the construction team to bring your designs to life. Take on special projects that challenge and push your creative boundaries. About you We anticipate that you will already possess a high level of acumen with REVIT software and across the Microsoft suite – Outlook, Word, and Excel. Minimum of 5 Years experience in a similar draftsperson / building designer role within the residential building sector. Ideally, this experience will be with the detached, medium‑density, and knock‑down rebuild space, with a solid understanding of how to balance creativity and compliance. Experience working with developer guidelines, local council planning schemes, and the NCC livable housing code, ensuring your designs meet regulatory and compliance standards. A relevant qualification in building design or architecture, demonstrating your professional knowledge and commitment to high standards in design. Exceptional communication and problem‑solving skills, with a track record of collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including consultants and construction teams, to bring designs to life. You will deliver with a mature approach, calm and efficiency. You will be an important member of a fun team, dedicated to supporting each other while growing, learning, and laughing. You will be able to prioritise work and consult with management to deliver time critical outcomes.
